Counselling training in Eastbourne with qualifications approved by CPCAB, The Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body.
The Counselling training at the centre starts at level 2 over 10 weeks with successful candidates following on to the level 3 Counselling Skills qualification, again over 18 weeks. After completion of Counselling skills training at levels 2 and 3 successful candidates may progress to level 4 CPCAB – Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling over two years.
We also plan to include a one year CPCAB level 5 qualification – Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, for candidates who successfully complete the (Level 4) Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
A CPCAB level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision is also offered as for qualified counsellors with no less than 18 months post qualification experience.
All the counselling training at the centre is conducted in small groups of between 8 and 10 candidates. The tutor team, who have many years of teaching Counselling skills up to and including Degree level between them, have found that the large groups that are so often the norm for counselling training at all levels do not always work well. In larger groups, there are often many learners who get lost in the process and find it difficult to find their voice. This will not be the case for those wishing to study Counselling at South Coast Wellbeing and Training where learners will benefit from more individual attention and training will be inclusive for all learners.
I recently attended a South Coast Wellbeing and Training workshop – ‘Working with the Effects of Trauma on Sense of Self’.
For me, the small group size was perfect for creating a safe space in which to learn and practise new approaches to my work.
Su and Graham’s training approach, is a great mixture of clearly and interestingly explained theory; alongside creative and experiential ways of exploring and practising as you learn.
I felt totally safe and supported throughout the weekend and I left the workshop feeling re energised and inspired to put my new learning into practise.
I would highly recommend anyone looking for small group CPD workshops to attend South Coast Wellbeing and Training.
Fantastic weekend, well planned and flowing, informative and sensitively held throughout.
Attending this workshop has enabled me to feel less stuck personally and has helped enhance my practice as a therapist. Graham and Su held the space through a difficult topic, maintaining safety, while encouraging courage and sharing.
I have recently completed a workshop called Working with the Effects of Trauma on the Sense of Self at Southcoast Wellbeing and Training. I found the weekend to be incredibly informative, both to my practice and personally. Through the space created by Graham and Su, I felt held and supported through experiential learning, whilst also learning and understanding different theory.
The approach was interesting and kept me engaged throughout the whole weekend. I look forward to attending more workshops in the future. Many thanks to Graham and Su!
